RACE TEAM DOMINATE IN THE SUPPORT SUMMER SERIES AT SCUNTHORPE
Monday 8th October 2012
Martin Pearce swiped the Summer Series Support Championship from under
Simon's nose in a thrilling final round at the Eddie Wright Raceway.
Simon held an 11 point lead going into the final but would only score
if he beat his lowest series finish of fifth place, Martin however
was scoring from the off having missed a round in August. In reality
Martin held the upper hand as qualification to the final would force
Simon to beat his score on the day to win the title, pressure was
on. It was excitement all the way as Simon pushed it to the last race
when an electrical fault ended his race and the championship chase,
leaving Martin to ride the final without the pressure of winning.
Both riders gave everything on the day and Martin in the end deserved
his win, bringing the Northern trophy back to East London for the
first time. Martin finished the series with 59 points ahead of Simon
with 55, and Leicester's Lee Springthorpe took third spot with 44.

third again. Martin also scooped the Rider of the Meeting trophy in
2010 for a solid 4 ride maximum before a cruel engine failure robbed

LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK AT THE SHOWGROUND AGAINST MILDENHALL
Thursday
7th June 2012
Simon Pearce is looking to bounce back from failing to score for the
first time this season with a big performance at home to Mildenhall
next Thursday, The 27 year old suffered bike gremlins while second
in heat 1 of the Thundercats home league match to King's Lynn last
week and then failed to score from his other ride. 'It was extremely
disappointing, I felt fast and comfortable despite the tricky and
grippy conditions. I was losing power on lap 2 and the bike stopped
on lap 3' Simon said after the meeting. It was his first zero of the
season going into a small mid season break, but Simon is feeling confident
of bouncing back against the Tigers side. 'The team is very strong,
we all feel comfortable around the Showground track and I'm confident
we can bounce back with a big win on Thursday'. Simon and brother
Martin will be in action at King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena on Sunday

PEARCE COLLECTS SUMMER SERIES RIDER OF THE MEETING AWARD
Monday 23rd April 2012
The Pearce
boys travelled to Scunthorpe for the first round of the Summer Series
on Sunday despite awful weather across the UK. The fantastic track
staff at the Eddie Wright Raceway managed to beat a huge downpour
1 hour before start time to produce a usable race track. The conditions
were very heavy but Simon managed to produce 2 overtakes, including
an inside pass on brother Martin. He fell in his last race but collected
the rider of the meeting award for his efforts, while the fall cost
him a top 3 finish on the day. Martin Pearce rode with his head and
scored 10 points to secure 4th place in the standings. This performance
comes after the fantastic STRA Pairs Championship Victory at King's
Lynn's Norfolk Arena for the duo. Both riders are awaiting the team
selection now for Lakeside's AJL away fixture at Peterborough on Monday
30th April.

RACE TEAM WIN THE STRA INT PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP AT KING'S LYNN
Monday 16th April 2012
Simon and Martin bounced back from an opening race 5-1 reversal
to claim the STRA Intermediate Pairs Championship at the Norfolk Arena
on Sunday. The meeting got off to an awful start when poor weather
and visibility made the track very difficult, and the boys struggled
with set ups. Simon successfully negotiated his way from first to
last while Martin claimed a consolation point in Heat 1. Both riders
adjusted their set ups and thundered back with 2 maximum heat advantages
before taking a 3-3 in the last qualifier to get in the final. The
Final was against the riders who claimed a 5-1 from the Pearce boys
in Heat 1. Simon made no mistake from the gate and stormed to victory
with Martin tucked in behind to score the win and the number 1 prize.
It was a terrific result after they threw away the lead in the 2011
final to finish runners up to Ben Holloway and Sid Higgins. With confidence
high the riders can look forward the first Anglian League Clash of
the season against Peterborough Friday followed by the Summer Series
at Scunthorpe.
